A small farming community located about ten miles north and slightly west of the town of Comanche in Comanche County, Texas. | |

Three families settled in the area in the 1860s: the Hams, the Poynors, and the Kisers. The Carmacks and the Robertsons arrived in the 1870s, and the community began to take form.

| More families came to make their homes between the banks of Sweetwater and Copperas Creeks. |

The schools, churches, and cemeteries were established. A cotton gin and a country store served the people. | |
